He died from COPD. he was the son of the late Elwood H. Jamison, Sr. and Alta I. Sowers Jamison Mummert. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Bankert and a grandson, Thomas Brian Jamison.He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a member of the First Air Commando group, 6th fighter squadron who executed the first glider invasion, 250 miles behind Japanese lines in Burma on March 5, 1944. He received the Distinguished Unit Badge, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze stars and the World War II Victory Medal. He is survived by a son, Thomas A. Jamison and his wife, Donna of Lake St. Louis, MO; a daughter, Carole Orndorff and her husband, Robert of Hanover; two grandsons, Gregory and Mark Jamison; six great-grandchildren and a sister, Elda Wiles of Hanover.
